CPF / Medisave


Scheme Who is it for? Assistance Amount How to Apply

Withdrawal of CPF Ordinary or Special Accounts (on medical grounds)

Those with reduced life expectancy and/or permanently unfit for work due to a medical condition, certified by a doctor

Depending on the extent of reduced life expectancy and CPF balances, you may withdraw a of $5000 or more.

1. Those with Medisave Account balance of at least $5000

2. Unable to perform 3 or more of 6 Activities of Daily Living, as certified by an MOH - accredited severe disability assessor

Depending on the Medisave Account balance, you may withdraw up to $200/month in cash from your own or spouse’s account

Outpatient rental of devices for long-term oxygen therapy

Those with chronic ventilatory failure

You may withdraw up to $150/month from your Medisave Account

Check with the medical team who prescribes oxygen therapy

CareShield Life

1. Those born in 1980 or later will be automatically covered from 1 Oct 2020 or when they turn 30, whichever is later

2. Those born in 1979 or earlier can choose to join from end 2021, if they are not severely disabied

3. To make a claim, unable to perform 3 or more of the 6 Activities of Daily Living, as certified by an MOH - accredited severe disability assessor

Starting from $600/month in 2020 and increasing annually till age 67 or when one makes a successful claim, whichever is earlier

You may approach the hospital’s medical social worker and/or the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) for advice and assistance to access these schemes.
